India is a land of diverse cultures in many areas. The role of Tribes of India is also very important in the Art and Cultural Heritage of India. Through out India there are several groups of tribal people living. According to some survey there are more than 1000 different Tribal groups of people living in India and each of those groups has their own and unique lifestyle, culture and heritage in every aspect. 

Due to this reason India is considered as land of diverse cultures.Be Proud of An Indian for this diversity in our culture.

Adivasi Lok Nritya special cover

Across the India there will be several Ethinic and Tribal Adivasi groups living in different areas. Each of these Adivasi Tribal group has its own culture and heritage. It has its unique life style. Some of the important Adivasi Tribal groups in India are Saharia, Bhil and Gondi tribes. Adivasi groups are living in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharasthra, Odisha, Tamilnadu, West Bengal and North Eastern Regions of India.

In my collection i have special cover of "Adivasi Lok Nritya" issued on the occassion of "BIPEX-79" in Jamshedpur.  This Adivasi Lok Nritya special cover depicts the  rich art and cultural heritage of Adivasi people and their traditional dresses, dances etc.

Todas are one of the important Tribal Group of India. They lived around Nilagiri mountain areas of Tamilnadu state. Toda tribe people have their own unique art and cultural heritage.

Please look into this vintage post card. Group of Khasi Girls in Shillong performed Group Dance. These girls wear their traditional  costumes. In North Eastern parts of India there were people belongs  to several cultural groups and each group has its own and unique culture.

Art and Cultural Heritage of Tribes of Araku Valley

Last year in july month i went to Araku valley excursion with my office colleagues. At that time i am taking some photographs of native tribal people of Araku Valley. Also i take some photographs outside the Anthropological Museum. At out side of the Araku Valley Tribal Anthropological Museum there will be a small tribal hut like house with full of their traditional drawings. In that location i am taking some photographs.
