Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry) Fort special cover

This is Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry) Fort special cover in my collection.

This Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry) Fort special cover issued by Numismatic & Philatelic Society of East Godavari District on 28th June, 2009 on the ocassion of EGNPEX 2009 held at Kakinada (East Godavari Numismatic and Philatelic Exhibition 2009). 

I am also a member of East Godavari Numismatic & Philatelic Society.

Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry) is a famous place and has historical significance. Rajamahendravaram has more than 1000 years of ancient history and it has many archaeological findings and once upon a time several kingdoms ruled from Rajahmundry as capital and there will be a big fort at Rajamahendravaram but later the fort will be destroyed. There will be many stories about ancient history of Rajahmundry and Rajamahendravaram fort etc.

Andhra kesari Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu garu who is the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State, Sri Kandukuri Veeresalingam garu who is a social reformer, Adikavi Nannayya garu who is the first telugu poet who wrote Mahabharatam in telugu language. Like these personalities there will be many other prominent personalities from Rajahmundry.

There will be a famous song on the history of Rajamahendri (Rajahmundry) and on Godavari river. Name of the song is "Vedam La Goshinche Godavari Amara Damamla Sobhileee Rajamahendri, Sathabhaala charitra kalgina sundara nagaram, gata vaibhava deeptulakidhi kammani kaavyam" like this complete song going on. This song is on the famous telugu movie of "Andhra Kesari". Andhra Kesari is the nick name of Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu garu who is the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State from Rajahmundry. In this Vedam La Goshinche song there will be good song composition with beautiful narration about historical significance and beautiful narration about Rajamahendri (Rajahmundry) town and its long ancient history of more than 1000 years, about Rajamahendri Fort, about Godavari river etc.

The song is "Maa Telugu Talliki Mallepudanda, Maa Kanna Thalliki Mangalarathulu" like this complete song going on. This song written by Shankarambadi Sundarachari garu and sung by Tanguturi Suryakumari garu who is a singer and actor. Tanguturi Suryakuamari garu is the daughter of Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu garu's younger brother. Tanguturi Suryakumari garu are also another notable person from Rajamahendri and she born in Rajahmundry.
